Scores of fans and admirers of Bob Ross and the Joy of Painting streamed into the beautiful town of Purcellville Virginia Sunday September 15th to celebrate the opening of the first ever exhibit of original paintings from the celebrated public television show.
Upon entering the exhibit guests were treated to a big screen showing of the official Bob Ross documentary and clips of the Joy of Painting episodes after which they toured the adjacent gallery and were allowed to get up close to some of their favorite memories of the Joy of Painting.
Staged at the beautiful Franklin Park Performing Arts Center in Purcellville, 24 paintings in all are on display in the gallery. From seascapes to mountain landscapes, visitors eagerly examined and photographed the paintings and themselves to document their experience.
Originally scheduled to run until October 15th the show is currently sold out.
